Job Description:
Accountable for planning and managing the performance, quality and scheduling of the QHSE department in line with the overall strategy and business plans of APH.  Future planning, development and continuous improvement of quality, health & safety and environmental related functions and personnel. Full management of the Company ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Official Health and Safety representative.

Overview of Duties:
With management approval of resourcing and budget, the QHSE Manager is accountable for providing successful and sustainable delivery of the following:

  • Oversight and management of QHSE department resources and processes
  • Maintenance of cost-effective quality capabilities, including the safeguarding of APH reputational risk
  • Development of strategic QHSE activity and investment plans as input to the overall Business Plan
  • Develop, lead, manage and maintain the Company Health & Safety policy & procedures
  • Develop, lead, manage and maintain the Company Quality policy & procedures and ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015
  • Develop, lead, manage and maintain the Company Environmental policy & procedures
  • Plan, manage and deliver all QHSE department related activities
  • Design and manage the Company QHSE internal audit schedule
  • Recruit, lead, supervise, train, and support the performance, retention and development of staff (where necessary)
  • Plan and manage the operational budget of the QHSE department and provide consistent, timely and accurate financial information to support the operational effectiveness of the Company
  • Work efficiently under pressure while meeting deadlines and effectively managing multiple projects
  • Drive continuous improvement and process efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Technical & Manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery of quality products
  • Maintain ISO standards, procedures and documentation and ensure satisfactory resolution of Customer returns
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate set of KPI’s based on relevant targets
  • Maintain professional and business awareness by reviewing professional publications, membership to relevant organizations and participating in educational opportunities
  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies by all APH employee’s and visitors
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Manager in APH Ltd to ensure all employees, visitors and contractors adhere to the Company health & safety procedures and wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
  • Liaise with client and supplier QA/HSE departments regarding audits and contractual requirements
  • First off inspection of manufactured components
  • Final inspection of components ready to dispatch
  • Preparation of certification packages to Customer specifications

Work Location & Hours:

  • Based at APH’s manufacturing facility in Glasgow, the QHSE Manager will occasionally spend time out of the office visiting Supplier & Customer facilities and trade shows
  • A minimum of 37 hours per week
  • Hours are flexible, as some weekend and evening work is required

  • Full-time staff position
